Nienke van Doeselaar (intern September 2019-January 2020)

Nienke van Doeselaar is a BA student interning in the SKILLNET project. She is following a BA in Dutch Language and Culture in Utrecht, with a minor in the history of the early modern period. Her research interests include the literary aspects of early modern Europe, in particular self-representation and the formation and representation of national identity. In the SKILLNET project she will be studying the definition of scholarly identity in the life-writings (e.g. biographies, vitae) of the humanists in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. She will also contribute to the organisation of the SKILLNET conference ‘Memory and Identity in the Learned World: Community Formation in the Early Modern World of Science and Learning’.
